Nigerian Grilled Fish (Grilled Tilapia)

Grilled Tilapia is my go-to quick Fish recipe. This recipe is pretty quick and easy but promises to deliver a very lush and delicious taste. The ingredients can be tweaked to suit individual preferences as well.

Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

1 Medium size Tilapia

2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Cumin Powder

1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

1 Knorr Chicken Cube

1/4 Teaspoon Fish/Chicken Seasoning

Few Parsely leaves, thinly chopped (optional)

Preparation:

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Clean and descale your fish thoroughly. Mix all the ingredients together…

Rub half of the marinade on the fish. Then, leave to marinate for at least an hour. Rub more of the marinade on the fish after it’s done marinating…

Then place on an oven rack. Place in the oven and grill for 15 minutes on each side or until fully Grilled. Remember to turn the fish over and rub some more marinade on it if necessary..

To make the pepper sauce I rubbed on the fish, simply blend one Red Bell pepper (Tatashe), 2 Tomatoes and 1 Scotch Bonnet coarsely. Then place a saucepan on medium heat. Add 1/2 cooking spoon vegetable oil. When the oil heats up, throw in some chopped onions. Saute for 2 minutes, then add the coarsely blended pepper, also add 1 Knorr Chicken Cube, Curry Powder, Thyme and Salt to Taste and fry for 15 minutes. Rub the sauce on the fish or use as a dip if you’re serving the fish with any sides like Plantain, Potato Fries or Fried Yam.
