Pan Seared Lamb Chops With Rosemary and Garlic

Lamb chops are easily the easiest red meat to cook. I prefer Lamb to other red meats because they are healthier than most.

This recipe is very simple and straightforward so you shouldn’t have any trouble perfecting it. I had some Lamb chops wasting away in my freezer, they were included in a Christmas hamper from last year. I didn’t particularly care for them as I do not fancy pre-frozen meats at all and I found these ones really fatty as well. so, I decided to make use of them last night. While they weren’t as juicy and fresh as i would have liked, they were still flavourful and delicious. so, let’s get to it/


4-6 Lamb Chops

2 Tablespoons Sunflower Oil

1 Tablespoon Butter

1-2 Sprigs Rosemary

4 Sprigs Fresh Thyme

4 Garlic Cloves

1 Teaspoon Black Pepper

1 Teaspoon  Steak Seasoning or 1 Knorr Chicken cube

1/4 cup White Cooking Wine or Rice Wine

Salt to Taste


Rub the Black Pepper, Salt and Steak Seasoning all over the Lamb Chops, then, leave to marinate for at last half an hour. After marination, get yourself a cast iron pan or skillet and place on medium heat. Pour in the olive Oil and butter. When it’s heated up, arrange the Lamb Chops in the pan, also arrange the Thyme and Rosemary and Garlic cloves…

Leave to cook for 4 minutes. do not keep moving them around, you need to leave them to brown before flipping over. When they’re flipped, leave to cook and brown as much as you prefer. If you find that the Garlic cloves are burning, simply place them on the Lamb chops.

All done!


You may need some gravy to go with your Lamb chops if you’ll paring them with other foods. To make the gravy, simply, transfer the cooked Chops onto a plate, leaving the juice from the chops in the pan. Then, discard the Thyme, Rosemary and Garlic bits. Now, pour the white cooking wine or rice vinegar into the pan and place it back on the heat. Using a soft spatula, lift the residue from the pan gently and mix thoroughly. There, you have your Gravy to serve with Potatoes, couscous or any other foods you’ll be ┬ápairing the them with.

  2. The Lamb Chops don’t look bad at all though you can tell it’s frozen like you mentioned . You did it justice anyway, as usual. I’ll be trying this with goat Chops very soon. Keep up the good work Sisi Jay.

  3. The Knorr seasoning cube is approx. how many tsp. I get confused because I have it but in powder form. And the one in cube form don’t look like one tsp, probably two or so. Thank you!
